Hand-held capacitor discharge stud welding system utilizes arc welding to attach a stud to bare metal surfaces. This fast, low-heat welding process allows a tag to be permanently fastened to the end of metal products such as rebar or billets. The system consists of a power source, tuning coil for added weld strength, and a welding gun.

Stud Types
Threaded studs are attached to the product, then the tag is placed on the stud with a washer on top to hold the tag(s) in place. Also available are collared studs, which eliminate the need for a washer.
