Pannier Corporation is pleased to be celebrating 120 years of serving the steel industry’s marking needs.

The Pannier brothers opened their steel and rubber stamp business in 1899 to serve local steel mills and factories who needed to mark their products. Pittsburgh steelmakers were then producing 60 percent of the nation’s steel, which was being used to build railroads and engineering marvels such as the Golden Gate Bridge and the Empire State Building.

As the local steel industry grew, Pannier grew with it. By 1917 the company had patented several new marking products and moved to a new location to accommodate their expanding manufacturing operations.
