Laser Marking Respirator Parts

Respiratory protection is a requirement for worker safety in many manufacturing operations such as welding, blast cleaning, and painting.  It is critical that the components of a respiratory system be labeled properly so that parts cannot be accidentally interchanged with other, similar-looking parts that could be used improperly or fail during use.  OSHA mandates that parts and filters be permanently marked with codes and part numbers to prevent such workplace accidents.

The FYBRA fiber laser is a fast and versatile laser for marking parts made of stainless steel, brass, and plastic.  Here it is used to mark part numbers around the circumference of couplers and plugs used in air line assemblies.  The laser etched part numbers are permanent and high contrast for easy, lasting identification.
